Babylon 5: I've Found her

The long-anticipated mission simulator allows players to re-experience missions from the original campaign, or create and play their own missions! It also includes the so-called “Skirmish mode”, or custom mission generator, where you can test your skills against the various opponents (including some of the alien ships) in three types of mission scenarios: assault, defense and simple skirmish. In this mode players will be able to enjoy virtually unlimited replayability of their custom-built skirmishes.

A major addition to the game is the LAN multiplayer with top number of 8 allowed players, with several types of scenarios: cooperative, free-for-all and team deathmatch. Challenge your friends in multiplayer battles, shooting, sliding, rolling and getting the large doses of adrenaline-surging action! Or join them in cooperative mode, helping each other to fight your way throught the well-known campaign missions from the single-player game!

Another important addition is the graphics. The real-time volumetric shadows give more depth and realism to the rendered scenes, creating a new visual experience. The sharp detail textures provide the best look on ships and installations at close range, eliminating the blurry texture enlargement. The advanced particle system effects improve the quality of the special effects, such as explosions, fire, smoke and debris from destroyed ships.

Guardian of paradise

Guardian of Paradise is a fun little Zelda-ish game by Buster, who you may know as having created Akuji the Demon. GoP casts you as Tela, a boy whose sister has fallen ill. Nobody knows what´s wrong with her, so there seems to be no cure, but legends tell of healing waters in Paradise, so Tela sets out to find the fabled land and save his sister. He encounters elemental spirits along the way, which provide magic, and the basis for the game´s puzzle system.

To the best of my knowledge, and I´ve played through three areas so far, Tela never gets any magic expansions. His MP gauge is carefully regulated, and can be replenished by picking up the magic coins that scatter when enemies are destroyed. The coins are plentiful so there´s no real need to worry about magic except in certain situations, but that´s usually part of a puzzle. You can only have one elemental spirit summoned at any given time; destroy an enemy of an alternate element and pick up its different-colored magic coins to summon a different elemental. The system is quite simple at heart, and is easy to get used to, but it allows for some very interesting puzzles. The game is quite fun, and it´s freeware to boot! Two thumbs up.

Super Mario War

Mario games come and Mario games go. What makes one so special that we could want to keep playing it? How about super responsive controls? Fast paced action? Over 1000 different maps and an easy to use level editor coupled with many different modes of play?

You may have seen this before, reviewed here as Super Mario War 101, however the changes to the game since that review are massive. The game feels incredible, it's exactly like a classic Super Mario game and with over a hundred different characters to choose from, the possibilities are enormous.

A review of this could easily expand to unreadable lengths, just by summarising what the game comes with. As if four-player head-to-head combat (against friends or bots) in two hundred included situations (an incredible amount more exist online) over seventeen different modes and twenty different match types weren't enough, a level editor is included and that's just the start of it.

It looks great, it sounds great, it feels great. Every part of this game is excellent. To put it simply, it rocks. Super Mario War rocks hard. You'd be silly not to download it right now. It's definitely the best Mario game I've seen in a long, long time. And I don't see one better coming for an even longer time.

How to play
The idea of CaiCar Jongg is the same as a Mahjongg game.
Empty the car park of all the different models of cars to move onto the next level.
To remove a car it needs to be able to drive of the bottom of the screen, if another car is in front you will not be able to use that car.
Use the mouse to highlight a car then match it up with the exact model somewhere in the car park that has a clear exit out of the car park.
You always have to start at the beginning of the car park then work your way back removing the cars only in pairs. Sometimes looking at the car behind the car you are removing will help you on your next move so think ahead.
On some levels you will see a number appear under a car that you have removed this number will range from 1 to 5 , this is a kind of hidden underground car park and when you click on the number a car will appear. When all the numbers have gone no more cars will be under that space.

The Shop:
When you got enough money, you can buy some powerups as preview, undo, etc...
The money you can earn:
Set 1 level 1=$105 .. level 40=$300
Set 2 level 1=$20 .. level 40=$800
Easy level=$50, Normal level=$150, Advanced=300, Maniac=$500

Tips:
The front of the Car Park is the direction the cars are facing.
Only hit a number when a car is needed to carry on the game.
Sometimes picking the correct car can depend if you will be able to finish the level.
You will not know if there is a number under a car until it's removed. (unless you got the preview powerup)
Some cars do look very similar so pick carefully.

Force Majeure

Force Majeure is the entry for the AutoFire 2007 Shooter Competition by junkboy of Monokey.

Force Majeure has the nicest pixel work I’ve seen in an indie shmup for a very long time. It’s truly a pleasure to credit feed the game the first few times just to see the backgrounds and the wonderful vehicle designs. Style-wise it’s described rather nicely by The only thing I’d add is a bit of Steel Empire (affiliate link, blah, blah… but really worth getting) to the mix.

You’ve got all the classic elements, including your choice of 2 playable ships: the lighter, faster but slightly under-powered ship and the heavier, slower but more powerful ship. Your main shots are spread out for the first second of holding fire and then they focus. Collect powerups and get your secondary weapon going. All in preparation for one of the best looking tank bosses around.

Chase HQ2 evo

ChaseHQ2 is a fantastic 3D ralley racing simulator from China.

The graphics and the sound effects are simply superb. The game is in both English and Chinese. The readme files are almost all Chinese, but you don't need to read them to understand and enjoy this great game.

It's a pity that there are only 2 tracks, one in the desert and one in the mountains. But to be honest, even if there were 200 tracks I would want more tracks because the game is so enormously nice that you never get enough! So, let us hope that the author will add more tracks and cars ;)

At the moment there are 3 cars in the game: a Lancia Stratos, a Subaru Impreza WRC and a Toyota Corolla WRC. But the author is working to add more cars, eg. a Formula One Ferrari car. Please HuoQi, hurry up! I would like drive a Schumi for once! ;)

Not only the graphics are fantastic, but the game engine must be a formidable one. The car reacts as a real car. Slipping, accelerating, etc.. it feels so real and still it is easy to control, even with the manual gears!
And the most important one is the gameplay. The 7 computer opponents are really excellent! It's not very difficult to reach the 6th or 7th place, but if you want to win the rallye... brrr... you have to be an Ayrton Senna or so!

Technically is this game very good too. It runs very smooth, is easy-to-play and is very challenging. You can run it in a windows as well in full screen.

There are two game modes:
- Championship: Choose a car and race against 7 computer opponents in both tracks.
- Practice: Choose a car and a track and test your car!

Well after nearly a year of development (months of talking about it, preliminary design and a lot of very hard work) , Stein and myself can present the first release our joint game 'F1' for Visual Pinball.

The Game is designed around Forumla 1's Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard's battle for the championship. The table is a true 2 player table where the players battle each other for the championship, accompanied with lots of Murray Walker remarks about each driver and challenging game play.

The game can be adjusted via operator menus to suit the level of skill the player requires.

Einstein puzzle

Einstein puzzle is a free cross-platform open source remake of old DOS game Sherlock which was inspired by Albert Einstein's puzzle. Einstein said that only those with an intelligence quotient of 98 percentile and higher should be able to solve it.

I really love this game. It was not easy, but I completed the game. A bit bloody but the gameplay is great. A bunch of levels and mazes, 4 kind of weapons, alot of enemies, etc.. In one word: Great!!! After you completed the game you can enter the castle again and play further, starting by level 1 again but with all your weapons, score etc..

Story:
1943. Somewhere deep inside Germany.
Your plane is circling around your target. Your mission is to steal plans of a secret operation which goes by the name of Operation Rheingold.

Dogma

Dogma is really an excellent Japanese fighting game that is very similar to Street Fighter.

There is a total of 9 players to choose from and four different modes of play. Sequence is the story mode where you battle your way through each player. In VS-User and VS-Comp mode you can either play against a computer player or a friend. Watch mode is for just watching the computer fight.

The in-game story is all written in Japanese, but you don't really need to know whats going on in order to play.

As with these fighting type games, each player has their own unique skills and special moves, and certain players have weapons as well.

The graphics are a bit old school, but are still very crisp and clear and the gameplay is awesome. The controls make the game a bit hard to play but you will get used to it eventually.

All in all this is a brilliant fighting game and is a must download for fighting fanatics.

A very nice 3D train simulator from Japan (the game is in English)
Be a train driver and pick up the passengers. Take care of your speed, don't drive through the red traffic lights and don't forget to stop at the stations.
you got two trains. The first one is rathe difficult to steer, the second one is easier. Both trains have their own track, very nice tracks, but too short for me. They are so beautiful that they be always too short for me. The sound is great and I really love the speech...
There is no explanation in english about the controls, so I tried to figure it out and I have more or less found some keys...
Menu
Click on the button in the bottom left corner (or press the Alt key) to open the menu (in english).
Therein can you select another train, do some settings as full screen/windowed, restart, exit, etc.

Bubble Sums

A great educational math game for kids

Bubble-Sums will teach math skills in a, hopefully, fun way to kids.
The player controls a bubble-gun on the ground.
Flying overhead are bubbles containing math equations.
The player must input the sum or difference into a small bubble and launch it
at the larger bubble. If the answer is correct, both bubbles will burst.
If it is incorrect, only the smaller bubble will burst

Bert the barbarian

Bert the Barbarian is top-notch fun fun fun!! Bert gets into sword fighting with approaching warriors in a Medieval setting. Victory in the battles can only be achieved by learning the fighting movements (combination of arrow keys, Alt and Ctrl keys). Can you escape the throwing knives? The 3D animation of the soliders is awesome, even notice their facial expressions! The paralax scrolling background is also nicely done. The gory part in this game consists of falling heads and screams of death. Although I would call it humorous gore. Sadly, the game only has 2 levels that loop in an infinite loop.

A Columns clone with nice backgrounds.The default language is German, so you better first start BeanConfig.exe to change it into English ;)

Like in Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, it's your target to stack beans on the playground and to combine them in such a manner that they disappear and give you points. Such a combination needs at least 4 connected beans of the same color, but diagonally connections don't count.

The game has 3 game modes:
* Free play
As the name suggest this is an endless game mode for one player. You can stack beans as long as you want or until you're game over. You collect points and advance levels (higher level means faster bean falling) and in the end you can (if you were good enough) enter the hiscore list.
* Split screen
The most addictive mode of the game where two players fight against eachother. Each player has it's own playground and if one player has a bean combo, the other one becomes a black bean dropped onto his field that can more or less block his current action. The game is over as soon as one player looses.
* Story mode
In this mode you play a timeline through all the scenarios and in every scenario you have a given amount of time to eliminate an also given amount of beans (the ratio between those get's harder as you advance). If you handle that, you advance to the next scenario, and if you make it through all scenarios you can enter your name into the hiscore for the storymode.
